past haunting present situation

I have been working as a teacher in my school for 4 years. I have been in the district for 13 years.
I was raped at a party 25 years ago, but never pressed charges and dont want to. But this person is to start teaching at my school next week.
I have told my principal so that if there are any complaints about him that they be taken seriously.
My question is whether I have a legal responsibility to report him since he is in a position of teaching high school students. Also my principals responsibility to report it now that I have told her.
I do not wish to change schools, and do not want to report him as that will no doubt at some point become public. I dont kow how I am going to work with this person, but first need to know my legal rights and responsibilities.
