Hi, Im new here, and Im desparate for some help. or better still, some good advise.
I was being bullied by a 60+ woman at work, I tried to deal with it in my own way, by ignoring it, I was told to keep records of what she said, the dates, times etc, I did this for a period of 6 weeks, The person was very clever and very devious, she soon found out what I was doing, she then changed her takticks!!, when I said and did nothing, she then went to the managers door, and reported me for bullying... I was then called in to the managers office, and had to defend myself, I had one further meeting with my manager, that was when she dismissed me... I was told by the manager that she would give me a reference for future employers, I have been for many interviews, all of which has said they cant employ me, due to the managers comments... all very bad!! It seems to me at this point, that my career is finished..... I desparatly need some help, can anyone advise me what to do now? I have tried to convince new employers that I am a good person, and that I will give 100%, but they feel with the comments made Im high risk!! It is a case now of 2 bullies... not just the one. Please help???? thanks. S. |

If you only have your self to say "She harassed me" (of course having records written down is a lot better then the nothing she will have.) You would have a high probability in wasting your time. If you can find 1 co-worker who has overheard her, then you could take it too court and have a high probability in winning. Other then that I'm not a lawyer and therefor don't have any more legal advice to possibly give you |

I wouldn't put that employer down at all, if they ask you what you've been
doing for 6 months, I wouldn't lie but think of something else that you could tell a prospective employer. I had that happen to me, and I was also fired, years ago about 30, because I wouldn't sleep with my boss, I couldn't find a job anywhere in the state I live and I moved to another state with my sister for awhile, went to an employment agency and the counselor there told me not to put that Employer down that they were saying things horrible!. So I didnt' put them down anymore, and I did finally get a job thru a temp agency and later on fulltime. Best of Luck |
