Default Fired for filing formal complaint

Greetings. I'm new here and searching for help. My wife-to-be was promised a full time job with GE Security, (div. of General Electric manufacturing electronic security and communication devices), in conjunction with my acceptance of a transfer to this facility from another GE plant. She was told she'd have to start as a temp. as that the contractual requirements GE Security operates under here in N.C. She complied and was initially brought in in Nov. of 2007. That stint lasted for a bit over 30 days and she was let go along with several others. She was recalled again during the first quarter of 2008 and again laid off along with others a short time afterwards, with the repeated promise of full time employment by the end of quarter two of this year. She was recalled on June 16, '08 and shortly thereafter told repeatedly by the plant manager to apply for the openings that had been posted.

During this third stint of employment, she became the victim of workplace harassment by way of hostile and intimidating behavior on the part of a full time GE co-worker. I complained to the manager and so did she. When the behavior failed to cease, she made a formal written complaint which the plant brushed off as quote, "I've wasted enough time on this." I filed a formal complaint with the GE Ombudsman's Office and she was fired for the stated reasons of poor quality and low productivity. Mind you, these "issues" never came up during any previous employment period, and the fact she was recalled on two additional assignments would indicate there were no issues with her work performance.

She and I have willing witnesses who can testify to her work ethic and quality, including her supervisor at the time, but this was ignored during the so-called "investigations" by the Ombudsman's Office. The individual who was the subject of her complaint is still employed and has a history of this sort of activity. We need an atty. who can help us litigate this matter, however, we cannot afford large atty. fees. Anybody who can help we welcome contact.........

I would suggest you email world law on their home page. They will almost certainly help you find a member lawyer that can proceed for you, tell them you need to keep costs low or on contingency.
