Lightbulb Webmaster's Liability for Content Uploaded?

Is a volunteer webmaster liable for potentially copyrighted content that a church, owners of the website, told them to upload to the website?

Would the webmaster be liable in any circumstance?

Does the webmaster need to get content submitters to sign a waiver of liability or something of that nature?

North Carolina is the state, if that is of any use.

I wish to inform you that web master can be held liable for copyright violation is he himself uploads content which violates copyright. If webmaster is uploading a content then it is presumed that webmaster knows the content. If web master is not himself uploading but content submitters are posting content on website then protection under Section 512 may be available.

When I say webmaster, I'm talking about a person that designs the website and uploads content on behalf of the church. Is that what you're talking about?

I know that any designs or content I personally place on the website will be without infringement; however, I cannot be 100% sure that any content given to me (the webmaster) by the pastor, deacons, etc is without infringement, unless it's clear infringement in my eyes.
