False Facebook status updates
Do I have the right to sue facebook for false "previous status updates". They posted my name, my picture, and they made up a false status update such as "fix your boobs you look like bleeding Picaso". It is shown on my facebook wall and my friends asked me about it. Facebook has abused my rights and it has already affected my relationships in real life. Employers etc may look on my page and decide not to hire based on these false updates.

I wish to inform you that facebook can be held liable if they have made changes in your account. In this regard facebook can make changes only with your consent. As the changes were unauthorized thus you can send demand notice demanding compensation for the damage caused to you and also a notice that facebook will not make any such post in future. Alternatively you may report the matter to law enforcement agencies including IC3 (Internet Crime Complaint Center). IC3 is a federal agency created for internet related crimes.

Sure sorry to hear what happened. Realistically, however, Facebook itself did not make such objectionable entries on your page. That just does not make sense. You were most likely "hacked", which has been happening all too often lately. Social media consistently disclaims liability, saying they just provide a "platform" as a third party, blaming the users (posters). Do file the IC3 complaint -- best step at this point. Hope it works out.
