What is the name of your state? Texas
Ok, so I made a site for this guy. Recently I quit my job from him, and I took down all my works/script from his domain. Learning this, he calls me and tells me he's gonna call the cops. And I'm thinking, yeah right, that's all my work, he can't sue me. I didn't write any slander on his site, or abuse aby priveleges, I just took all of my work off of his domain, legally at that. I logged in to his ftp account and deleted it off the domain, by a password he was letting me use. This is a yahoo webhost. He claims I can get into big trouble for this, but I'm thinking no. Can you guys clarify that I am right on this, or correct me if he somehow has legal ownership of my code. Keep in mind that we made no form of legal agreement or contract that would relinquish my copyrighted works to him or is company. |

If he employed you, you normally need to let him keep any work you did for him. You may still own the copyright if you were an independent contractor but if he did pay for the work you normally cannot remove it.
