Webcam recorded without permission (Yahoo chat, video)

Okay so the exact same thing happened to me. Sent him the $100 for the video, but saved all text messages and chat logs in the event he try's extortion. I'm pretty embarrassed by the entire thing, so felt like I was in a bind. My only short hope I that I can ensure he stays off my back and moves on to his next victim. Lesson learned, don't do something on cam you can regret and lock down Facebook and blog information, don't let your email address get out, phone numbers, or identifying information such as your Facebook profile.

Has anyone either not paid or paid and had him come back at you for more money? Or had your video posted on the site he mentioned?

Report it to the police is my suggestion. Blackmail is criminal.

I had the same thing happen to me. I followed the advice and just ignored it. Definitely not the best choice. About a month later a friend saw the video of me online and told me. I hired a lawyer and we lost. Basically, we were told that if you put yourself out there on a webcam, you don't have an expectation of privacy and you become public domain. Much embarrassment and money fighting to hide my own stupidity. Lesson learned. On the bright side, my wife wasn't as mad as I expected. In fact, she thought it was hilarious and said that's what I get for trying to show off to another woman.

The exact samething happened to me . I had a chat with girl and she captured my video and blackmailing for small amount. Should i pay her small amount $100 or should i Ignore her completely ? Please advise me i lost my mind totally . She is promising that she will delete the video if i pay her the amount and it is one time deal .

These posts demonstrate so well the inherent danger in broadcasting compromising videos over the internet. The instant intimacy it promises can be as false as a 3-dollar bill. One cannot be sure of who they are talking to or broadcasting their image to.

On everyone's video cam should be these two words: "Wise Up!"

Anything is possible.

Word to the wise: If you wouldn't want your mother to see it, then don't do it over a webcam with someone you don't know well enough to trust.

The same thing just happened to me. It was a woman from france, and she said I had until 8. She said she or he was from morroco
