Default EBAY Buyer left negative feedback by mistake

I recently sold an item on ebay. The buyer subsequently left a nasty negative feedback and very bad Detailed Seller Rating. I defended and argued strongly and even sent her a feedback revision form, which she rejected.

It was only much later did she realised she left the negatively feedback on me BY MISTAKE. She even did a follow-up comment to the feedback apologising for this mistake.

eBay will not remove the feedback nor even send her another feedback revision form. So I am stuck.

I reside in Singapore and Singapore Law paths about the same as UK Law. I called a legal aid bureau and they told me it is a defamation case. But she did leave a apologetic follow-up comment.

I am not happy with the negative feedback and worst the very bad Detailed Sellers Rating which I definitely did not deserve to be rated this way.

How can I resolve this, especially having the Detailed Seller Rating restored to before what this buyer gave me.

Thanks!

Be persistent with ebay--if it is an error they will remove it. You can even file suit if you have to but that should not be needed.

Ive just been contacted by eBay.

Unless this buyer leaves the negative feedback (in exactly the same text as how she left on mine) to the rightful seller, they will remove it.

And this buyer is not replying to my emails. Ebay is pretty comfortable sitting and refusing to budge removing the feedback.

This is absurb!

Angry Re: EBAY Buyer left negative feedback by mistake

I have a similar situation and ebay are not very helpful at all. I have been trying to proove that the buyer has left a very comfortable negative feed back just becasue I raised an unpaid item dispute and this is a threat to the sellers. The buyer didnt pay for 9 days and was not answering and emails of mine.

Obviously the next thing a seller would do is open a payment dispute. For this the seller called me RUDE and left a negative feed back.

This is what the buyer left: (- Negative ) Item ok - Seller a bit rude. Opened an unpaid item dispute with no warning! Sour

This is what ebay told me in response:

EBAY: "Upon reading your email, I realise how you may feel with receiving such
feedback and I sincerely symphatise with your situation.

The Feedback System is designed in a way where for it to be fully
effective, it needs to stay between members. Please consider that if
eBay got involved in Feedback disputes, people's opinions on buyers and
sellers would be replaced by eBay's opinion. "

Ebay should be more in control of this situation where buyers threaten sellers just because they can leave a negative feed back and the seller cannot. If ebay has restricted sellers from leaving a negative feed back then they should atleast make it easy for seller to proove their innocense and remove the negative feed back.

I am very verry dissapointed with EBAY and the way they handled this situation.

WE AS SELLERS SHOULD PUBLISH THESE UNFAIRNESS FOR THE WORLD TO SEE. EBAY SHOULD ACT UPON THIS AND MAKE DO THINGS IN A MORE JUSTFUL WAY.

I had a simialr issue and really think they should revise their system.

But I did threaten to take the buyer to court for damages for false information and we did get an agreement done.

The forum has a lot of expert advice on it. I found advice there about how to avoid EBAY suspensions, get past PayPal limitations, also lots of detailed help on creating your own business, getting past trademark violations, VERO and lots more. Plus general advice on how best to sell on EBAY, what sells the best, how to get the best price for your product, really everything related to EBAY and internet business.
