Legal implications of running a website from another country
Hello,
I am about to launch a community-building website aimed at an international audience. I will not be charging a membership fee, but I do hope to earn ad revenue from the site. I have already purchased a hosting package with an American company, but I live in Spain. I have yet to write (or get a lawyer to write, I should say) the terms of service for the site. What are the legal implications of running a website and hosting it outside your own country? Thank you, Elizabeth |

You can choose which law governs your site but when you are hosting in a country you will become subject to that law as well in many cases, even you don't want it.
