Default paypal reversals

got involved with an internet site that promised a ROI.They paid me through paypal after gaining access to some users info,I am now being made to pay back what was taken out of those accounts,plus I am obviously out the invested funds.Two questions;Can paypal be held partially responsible as their system failed to safegaurd users information,and,does anyone have any knowledge on trying to track down the site owners(I know this is weak,but I have to give it a shot)

Paypal will not be liable normally.

You may file a police and/or FBI report for fraud, and file in court where they live as well if you know who they are. WLD can also track them down, prosecute and collect though they do charge a basic fee for that. WLD has 280 lawyers in the group covering all U.S. states and 26 countries.

My own experience with a thrid party and PayPal was equally nefarious;

I sent a sum of money to a group promising to return a larger amount for its use for a short time. Instead of sending one lump sum, as i did not trust them, I sent the sum in 11 uneven amounts, over a period of two days.

True to their promise, my paypal account was credited with the original amount and the gain. But, seeing I had stopped sending them more funds, the theives then contacted Paypal, and claimed that I had sold them bad merchandise, and they now wanted their entire spends to my Paypal account returned to their account.

Fortunately I had withdrawn about $200 of my account, and Paypal was only able to steal about $700 of my funds from the first theives.

Then I started searching on the Web to see if anyone else had experienced the same theft by PayPal. sure enough, many had. One had proceeded to track down the private finance system PayPal uses, and found that PayPal provides free virtual credit, and there is no way to guarantee it against theives using it. As it turned out, the thieves we had encountered were very likely PayPal people, or at least inside Paypal, as they used the virtual credit accounts and knew exactly who and when to finish their account thefts.

I see so many unsuspecting people using Paypal now! If only I could tell the planet to stay away from PayPal, as they are Not a legitamate, law-abiding banking institution. They, like eBay, are offshore businesses where tthey are under no banking regulation and have complete ownership rights to all money sent to their private business. It's like paying for a car at a sleazy dealer; you give their salesman who promised the moon, your hard-earned money, and the honey of a car conks out before it gets around the next corner.

So, you walk back to the dealer, and the slimey sales guy is 'out to lunch,' and the dealler claims to know nothing about the money, or the deal you made with his sales guy! PayPal operates on that exact same plan; When you trust their 'customer protection' snake oil claims, and then get taken by their opeerations staff, you cannot contact a single one of either their management or their operations staff!

Try it! That's what they are.

Hope this helps. Also, try to find many others who've been robbed by Paypal operators and company, Get the word out that eBay at least is maintaining a crooked payment system, and may have other financial mismanagement that needs to be exposed by both banking regulation and court of financial law. We would never allow our bank to treat us and our money the way eBay and payPal treat both; would we?

Think about it.
