I work for a tire disposal & recycling company, and the delima i have is that our processed material is a good supplement for coal in a lot of paper mill and cement kilns in China, Japan, and Korea. Our delima is that we don't want to load a bunch of containers and then send them out and then have no one take responsiblity for them. My question is that if the customer books the containers, and pays the shipping fee, and pays us FOB once product is droped off at port, is there any way that the responsibility for that product could fall back on us after it has left the port?

Once they pay FOB, provided you live up to your contractual obligations, generally you would be off the hook in terms of liability. To be absolutely sure, have an international law attorney review the situation. If you go to the WLD main page, you could get a referral. They have lawyers all over the world. AJJ
