Hi – Please advise if this is a situation you can assist in. We aren't trying to collect on a debt, per se, but rather, a refund of a prepayment for a purchase order that has been all but repudiated. It is long past any commercially reasonable period of time.
I placed a PO with a broker based in Great Britain, international-components.com , back on Jan 24,2009, with delivery to be fulfilled within 3-4 wks. They quoted stk, which they apparently never had, have stalled me for quite a long time, finally said they shipped, only to receive 5ea (rather than 2000ea) incorrect samples, billed to my UPS acct, Express (about a $90 charge). I’ve given up hope and already requested a refund of the $2400 bank transfer, to which I’ve not rec’d a satisfactory response. They keep stalling, saying they're still trying to follow up with their supplier... Whta should be my next step? I'd like to do what I can, before paying for a lawyer, so as to minimize the cost of recovery. Contact a UL lawyer directly, or retain a US lawyer? I might’ve expected this from some Pacific Rim outfit, but the UK...?! Please advise. Thank you |
