Default Chief Justice of the Supreme Court on Trial -- Philippines

Greetings,

The link below is an editorial from one of my favorite news media, Philippine Daily Inquirer. The impeachment trail is on-going and is hotly debated. I would appreciate your comments:

The right to a fair trial requires judges to be impartial. The right to be tried by an impartial tribunal implies that judges (or jurors) have no interest or stake in a particular case and do not hold pre-formed opinions about it or the parties. Cases must only be decided “on the basis of facts and in accordance with the law, without any restriction”. Judges shall always conduct themselves in such a manner as to preserve the dignity of their office and the impartiality and independence of the judiciary”.

Thank you for your response Lexus. I totally agree the rights for any citizen to have a fair and impartial judgement. As you may realize, the corruption machine in the Philippines is well lubricated. The verdict from the impeachment court by the senators will be out in a few days. The issue as you stated, is the preservation of the dignity of their office remains in question. I look forward in your future comments once the verdict is rendered.

Respectfully -- Jake

Every person who belong to any country or region have right to fight for his laws and the judiciary system who takes decision over the person must be impartial. So that all citizens can live their free life in the country.
