Let's say that I donate money to an aid organization to install a few wells in rural African villages. Some of the wells provide poor-quality, life-threatening water. Other wells run dry. Other have failed mechanically and are in need of repair. Am I responsible? Is the organization? What is the liability of such "good will?"

Donors are normally not liable for the organization's actions. You need not worry about that.

Thanks for the reply. What kind of responsibility, if any, does the organizatio have towards rectifying the situation?

Well the organization is responsible if they actually were involved; they could even be held liable.
Whoever did the actual work is responsible normally. |
