Default Government Seized land in Angola

My parents and grandparents escaped Angola as refugees to come to the United States in the 70's, leaving behind many buildings, vehicles, stores, and land, as well as all their money and personal possessions. Is there any way to get reparations from the Angolan government for everything the government confiscated at that time? I know there have been cases in history where countries have done this after war. My grandfather is still alive, but unable to travel. All of his 3 sons are still alive though. Would they have to travel to Angola to be entitled to their buildings back, or is the government there still uncooperative? Thank you for your help.

I wish to inform you that as per law 43/76 of June 19, the ministers of Justice and of Urbanisation and Environment can confiscate property for unjustified absence from the country for a period longer than 45 days. Hence our grandfather can hire a lawyer in Angola who can challenge his confiscation of property but as he has left unauthorized therefore it may be difficult to revoke confiscation.
