Angry spouse

I need my spouse to return to the U.S. to resolve a lot of matters that he abandon in the U.S., he is a permanent residence of U.S. but left without using his papers so that I dont know he went to his country. What do I need to do to resolve all legally, and do I need to consulte the American Embassy in his country Mexico
