Default Re: is Roh's office appealing the election law in south korea?

See below just released--

Cheong Wa Dae, the office of President Roh Moo-hyun, said Wednesday
that it will file a constitutional petition this week to nullify
election law clauses outlawing the president's political remarks and
activities.

"The National Election Commission's (NEC's) recent verdicts on
President Roh's violation of the election law infringed on the
president's freedom of political expression as a politician," Cheong
Wa Dae Chief of Staff Moon Jae-in told reporters.

"Basically, all individuals are entitled to freedom of political
speech. Thus, we'll ask the Constitutional Court to rule on the
constitutionality of the controversial clauses of the election law,"
he said, adding the petition would be filed by the end of this week.

The NEC ruled on Monday night that Roh again violated the election
law clause stipulating political neutrality by government officials by
publicly attacking the main opposition Grand National Party and its
leading presidential candidates aiming to run in December's election.
