Marriage between an American woman and Egyptian man
Could you give me any insight on whether it is currently possible for an American woman to marry an Egyptian man in Egypt? I have contacted the consular section of the US embassy to ask if there is anything that they can do to help in this matter. I was informed at the time, there is nothing that can be done because the issuing agency is not accepting what the US embassy has. The government in Egypt wants the US to say if they approve of the marriage and ths US has no legal rights to determine if a citizen can marry or not.
Although I was told it can change any day, it does not help me at the present time. Is there any legal procedure that can be done to allow this? I thought I had understood that if the documents needed could be authenicated, it could be possible to get married. Do you know if this is true? If so, exactly what procedure would I need to go through here in America and what procedure would my fiance need to go through in Egypt? How long of a waiting period, if any, would there be? Could it be possible that he be allowed to return home with me? Any information you could give me would be most appreciated as I live in a small town and have no attorneys that can handle any information of this kind. Thank you in advance |

I think you must go to your fiancee in Egypt
All the papers needed will be done in USA embassy and complete your marriage papers in Egypt. |

I have been investigating on how to go about marrying my Egyptian fiance, for this to happen, there has to be Apostille documentation of the birthcertificates, divorce decree if there is one,
I was adviced by info@k-1-marriage-visas.com, www.travel.state.gov , and uscis.gov... It is best to visit Egypt, get pictures showing that youare in love, and serious about marriage, not just trying to get a muslim here so he can blow up something.... I know that is the meaning behind the governments reason..... Also, it is best to keep the pics, file them with the K-1 Fiance visa application, then you can get your fiance here within 3 to 7 months, if you marry him there, it will take months to get the documentation to marry there. and then it will take up to 2 yrs to get a Visa for him to come to the USA. Good luck,,, If your truly in love and want to be together for life, then it is worth the 2 or 3000.00, it will cost in legal fees and waiting, I guess this is a test of true love. Good Luck American wanting an Egyptian too. |

Re: Marriage between an American woman and Egyptian man
I am leaving for Egypt on Saturday to hopefully marry....yes you HAVE to have the apostille from your state...however I am unaware that you had to have your birth certificate ALSO have this seal...where did you uncover that?
