Default Paraguay - Extradition

I'm an USA and Argentinean citizen living in USA for the last 20 years. In nov. 2007 I was arrested at the Asuncion - Paraguay's airport for a criminal complaint made by my former business partner. After spending the night in jail I was indicted by the prosecutor.
Even when there was no evidence of such allegation. The warrant came out with aggravated robbery and appropriation. I was charged for appropriation. Tens of unjust acts committed in the investigation that had been arranged to demonstrate that I allegedly appropriated money from my own companies in Paraguay. I went to court this past February and two of the most corrupt judges in the entire judicial system found me guilty, sentenced me to three years in prison. The other judge said there was no such fact and not one proved that I was supposed to be to be charged with anything and there should be other people judged if any instead of me. I appealed that ruling and it is in to be resolved. Viewing the facts, lost money and time. I'm worry cause that my ex-partner took all the money out of the companies with the help of corrupt judges and prosecutors. I'm not be able to get anything going in my favor or get justice of any kind. I'm back in my home in the U.S. after I spent more 2 years in Paraguay trying to resolve this situation.
My biggest concern is: If EXTRADITION is possible by the fact that I was declared guilty of appropriation in this bizarre audience with these corrupt judicial system.

Best regards and thanks in advance for any help or orientation you might provide me.

I wish to inform you that there is extradition treaty between USA and Paraguay. In this regard Article II(1) provides that an offence is an extraditable offense if it is punishable for more then one year. If your offence if punishable for more then one year then you can be extradited to Paraguay.

Thank you for the reply.

I submited myself to a trial hoping that everything could be different for once. But I was wrong and so naive.

There is not justice there. Everyone at every stage and part of the judicial system is for sale. Is one of the most corrupt countries I ever heard.

I read the part of the treaty you mention and I wanted to make sure of that.

What other options are on my side?

I do not want to go back there. Is a waste of time. Without buying a court minister for tens of thousand of dollars I'll not get anything going in my favor.

Best regards
