American, divorced, living in Kenya; how do I pursue legal rights?

Hi, I am an American woman living in Kenya (East Africa) for 7 years now, raising my three daughters. My x-husband and I were married in California (2001) and moved back to Kenya, while living here he flew to the states and filed for divorce. It went through in 2005. He refuses to pay me what was legally agreed on. To the point of now owing me over 80,000usd not including what was granted me in the divorce agreement on other issues. I cant afford to go the states to do anything about this and he is well known here and threatens me if I say I will pursue him in a court here! then the lawyers here wont give me answers on if a California divorce agreement can be held up in court here? Can any one give me advice on how to go about this legally?

He needs to pay as required in the divorce. And the divorce IS valid.
