Default Finland law and US Military

Im currently serving in Iraq. I was dating a girl from Finland for a while until she recently broke up because of the long distance. I had found out that she wasnt be totally honest about her feelings for me. I tried to get her to stay with me but she would agree. In return for her dishonesty and unwillingness to agree to fix the relationship I emailed some explicit photos we had taken to her family and her bosses. Now her dad tells me he will report this to the finnish police and other authorities. Can I get in trouble for this while im here in Iraq? Can they pull me out of here to go handle this in finland?

It is not likely they will take you out of Iraq but you may have to deal with the issue afterwards.

It is normally not permissible to do that...but you probably already know that.

Hopefully it will all fade away. If it does not you may want to email world law privately on the home page and resolve.

So if the girl or her father wanted to press charges, I cant be pulled out of Iraq to go there? Can I get in trouble with military law?

They could pursue it...but frankly it is not likely.

But certainly don't do it again.

Confused Re: Finland law and US Military

You must be a complete idiot - I'm not surprised she wanted to get away from you! Sending the photos to her family was bad enough, but wanting to ruin her career just because she didn't want to be with you any more? The army is supposed to turn boys into men, but seems it failed in your case.
If they want they can take this further through various alternatives - I lived in Finland 12 years - there's a high chance that they will, and if they do you deserve everything you get.
