Refund of advance paid to a New York registered company
I am a Singaporean having a trading company in Singapore. I had placed an order to purchase some material from a Newyork registered company. As per the signed contract, my company paid 30% advance to the New York(NY) company to effect the shipment. However, NY company did not do the shipment and cancelled the order after a month of taking the advance.
The NY company confirmed through email to refund the advance but till now did not return. As per the contract also, NY company has to return the advance within 5 working days from date of cancellation. Sent several emails and phone calls to chase funds but there is no response from this company. The advance amount is substantial. Can anyone advise the legal ways to recover the funds from this NY registered company? Thanks for your attention. |
