Smile Curious - Sponsor of adult Child

I am a US Citizen, who has filed a petition to sponsor my adult single child. I live in California, so the petition is at the California Service Center. They have only completed up to Jan, 2003. Which means we will have to wait about 5 years, before a number becomes available.

My question is, if I move to another state, and when I notify of my change of address. Would my petition move to the other state too?

The reason I am asking this, is I noticed some states, seem to have a shorter time frame.
