AUTO LEASING CONTRACT

Michigan; My wife purchased a used vehicle from a car dealership, it start breaking down and we want to do a trade in on it, but now we are being told that the vehicle is a leased vehicle and we can\'t trade it in or sell it, also this vehicle is a Ford Windstar but all the paperwork is typed up for a Ford Tauris, is this contract binding, and is it true about the selling or trading of this vehicle?

I could really use some help, do anyone know anything about this situation? Please help. Thank you

Those are two different things--did she have a contract that she reviewed?

She can argue fraud or misleading behavior if need be but normally one is clear if it is a lease or purchase.

Good information, thank you. But maybe I should break up the question. The contract was typed up for a Ford Taurus but then they scribbled it out and wrote in Windstar, is this contract binding?

Then the other question is: If it turns out that this vehicle is a lease, are we allowed to sell of trade it in?

Changing it to windstar does not void it automatically if you all agreed.

Leases do have provisions for ending the lease; and some websites exist to help you swap the lease or have somebody else take it over.
