As weird as it might sound - I walked through a glass window while on excursion in Japan (otherwise, I'm an EU citizen). I was seriously injured (7 stiches on the face, several cuts all over the body). I didn't really run into the window, so I presume it must've been already damaged when I bumped into it. Furthermore there was a ramp for disabled that goes right into the window!
Now the company that took care of the service wants to charge me for all the damage repair costs (more than 1500 EUR). Since the glass wasn't anything special, the cost seems like a rip off. In the end - it was an accident and I got permanent injuries and I could in fact sue them, but now it is them who want the money. Is this common practice or are they trying to rip me off? Any advice will be appreciated. |

You can sue THEM. They should have it marked. Walking into solid glass walls is a common accident and preventable by the one who installs it with minor markings or decals etc. on the glass.
World Law's lawyers could also probably intervene and help resolve this if need be. You may email them on the home page. |
