Default please help

My mother just received a letter from an attorney stating that someone
suffered an injury on her sidewalk. She does not have any liability
insurance. She is 76 years old and collects S.S. Will she lose her house?
What should we do?

She may want to inform counsel she has no insurance and also she does not feel she is responsible. The lawyer may not proceed. It would be hard for them to take her home but they could try to get a lien on it if they go all the way through court -- and win.
