Default Disability insurance

I filed for SSD in November 2003. I was awarded full disability and retroactive pay in February 2007. (Florida courts are a little slow) And with that I was also able to get my LTD reinstated from my previous employer because I was on STD at the time I filed for the SSD. (I was laid off and my insurance taken away from me Dec 2003) They also paid me retroactive to November 2003. Now the insurance company is wanting me to go to a physical therapist to determine what I am or I am not physcially capable of doing. (not a physician). It seems they did not like the form my pain management doctor filled out for them last month.

Do I need an attorney?

It would not hurt. But have they insisted or are they asking?

Your doctor could write them further as well.

Default Re: Disability insurance

Disability insurance, often called disability income insurance, is a form of insurance that insures the beneficiary's earned income against the risk that disability will make working (and therefore earning) impossible. It includes paid sick leave, short-term disability benefits, and long-term disability benefits. Disability insurance policies in countries like the United States cover several perils, and give policyholders up to the age of 65 an amount of between 50 and 60 per cent of the monthly income they earned prior to the disability.
