Golf ball through window
I live across the street from golf course. Recently a golf ball went through the back window of my car. Who is responsible the golfer (who we can't find) or the golf course.

The golfer. Courses have signs all over stating this. You can't win.

You are responsible for the damages. You take the risk of parking at/near a golf coarse.

There is no viable ''house on the golf course'' defense. You cannot claim that the home owner was asking for it when he bought that beautiful home on the back 9. Suits have been overturned in most cases when the claim is nuisance and/or negligent design - but in some cases not.

The golfer is liable but you as a homeowner also need to take precautions especially if you are in a zone where this is happening frequently.
There are many protective things that can be done and your home insurer will also discuss with you. |
