My daughter was 18 when started to work to a firm, and was a 100% healthy person; there (a clothes' megastore) she had to carry heavy loads of
clothes (slacks, blouses, pants (jeans) etc), and two years later she acquired a hernia; because of this ill, from then to nowadays (2 years more , 4 years complete), she stays "off-work" receiving a state benefit. From time to time (+/- 2 months), she has to submit herself to a state medical expert in order to evaluate if she continue away, or she'll return to her activities. She won't, because recently finished her law school (she's a lawyer in this 2008), but she (and I) think that the employer - considering that her ill (hernia) will stay for the rest of her life, according to medical expertise - must compensate her, not being relevant if she will or not continue to work. We will be very glad for receiving any help or ideas. |

That may very well be true--you should have a workers comp lawyer meet with you and review it all.
Sometimes it is a good idea to meet with a few to discuss... |
