Angry Builders suck to deal with

I built a home about a year and a half ago with a builder. Since the day I moved in one of the eavstrophs has had a leak, and drips down to the sidewalk in front of the front door. I contact the builder on a weekly basis to see when they will fix it and they always have a different excuse. Of corse now with winter here, and living with chinooks during the day the snow melts and then freezes at night leaving this area with a thin sheet of ice. I go out every day and sprinkle salt on the area to prevent falls. Yesterday when I left the houst there had been a small skiff of snow and when I stepped down I slipped, with my 6 month old baby, and fell back into the stairs. She was fine, but I have a deep bruise on my butt, my elbow is bruised and I ripped the skin of of it, and I have pulled all the muscles in my left shoulder from trying to support myself and my daugther while going down. I have told my builder if anyone fell on that ice this year I would sue them, not knowing if I could just tought it would be fixed faster. Is there any legal action I can take on them even though its my property?

Default Re: Builders suck to deal with

Based on what you say here, you could probably file suit against them for all blatent defects and damage (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior... You may also report them to your state attorney general's office.
