Default Case of Slander? (I am not employed by the organization)

I am wondering if I case for slander. I was at my workplace and had a member of an organization that I am associated and a member of come into my workplace. The function of the organization is to assist me in doing my job. The organization is not my employer, but they did help get me employed. I had an argument with one of the members of this organization when they came to my workplace. Then upon leaving this member of the organization proceeded to tell my supervisor/co-worker that I was insubordinate, did not know how to properly perform my job, and did not represent the organization. Since, I am not employed by the organization do I have a cause of slander against the organization due to the actions of their representative?

I wish to inform you that there is a case of slander against other person if the statement by the person is incorrect. As the statement against you is spoken to your employer therefore you have been defamed and may therefore file a lawsuit for slander. In this regard, there is a freedom of speech and you can file a suit for slander only if the statement of that person is wrong. The burden will be on you to prove that the statement is incorrect.

I see. Thank you very much. I think I will proceed with contacting an attorney. I think I have a strong case against them. I just wanted to be sure before I went and proceeded. Thank you.

AFFA has once again given incorrect replies. As the Attorney you speak to will tell you. If the statements made are truthful or the opinion of the person stating them they do not fall into defamtion/slander or the like. Furthermore unless your fired, suspended etc you have no damages you can seek either
