Confused uninvited friend hurt on our property

Our 10 year daughter called me at work to say a girl from her class had come over because she was home alone. She had ridden her bike from her home approx 1/2 mile. I told my daughter I was sorry but she had to send her away since we do not let our kids have friends over when we are not home. About 20-30 min. later my 12 year old daughter called and said that the friend was swinging in the front yard in my 1 year olds baby/toddler swing and fell. We had it tied by a big yellow rope from the tree. It only holds around 25-30 lbs and she is approx 80 lbs. Unfortunately at this time we do not have home owners insurance so could not help them out. Are we responsible for her injury's? She ended up breaking her leg and at first her dad (who didn't even know where she was) was told he was nice about it and said accidents happen. I told him that we were very sorry but she was on our property without our permission and that is why we have those rules about having friends over.

no you are not responsible for this girl being injured. your daughter should have told her freind she wasnt allowed to have friends over when you are not home, and that she had to go home. plus, this girl should have known she was too big for this swing in the first place.
