Default USAF Legal Problems

I have a question regarding suing the US Air Force. Approx 5 years ago, I was injured while on Duty, and the problem was seen immediately. The problem required Surgery, however the "doctors" at the base I was at, would not do surgery until I was in the lower 48 states. These doctors just kept me on opioid pain medications as a temporary fix....for 4 years. I was also stuck on a profile for this time, not allowed to lift 25 pounds, run, jog, stairs, etc. I injured both of my knees. When I got down to the lower 48 states, the doctor there kept me on the pain killers and kept 'pushing it off'. After I was in the states for a year, the doctor finally admitted to not having enough experience with my particular surgical needs and sent me off base to a knee doctor. The knee doctor offbase was appalled and scheduled me for surgery the next week, then a 2nd surgery 5 months later on the other knee. Even then, I was supposed to be out of work for 8 weeks for recuperation, not only did the Air Force make me return after 2 weeks, they made me run for the physical training test. This only "reversed" my surgery, which I had to have fixed again. So because of the 4+ years of neglect, I lost my original Job, was forced into something I did not like because of this. I became hooked on Opiod Painkillers (Percocets,Oxycodone) I have permanent damage to my knees, I had to leave the military, the VA (Veteran's Affairs) pays me a minimal amount for disability. I went thru bouts of depression, anger and sleeplessness (Due to pain). And I am now 24 years old and pretty much crippled in a way. I can walk, in pain and limping, but I can't run, lift anything heavy, kneel down right, hardly do anything other than standard walking.

I guess what I'm asking is, since I have medical records proving all of this, do you think I would have a good case against the Air Force?

Thanks in Advance,

Jay

It would seem you indeed may. You should take a brief description of these events as well as your medical records to an injury attorney and see if the attorney thinks you have a claim; often you need to contact several attorneys to find one to take the case; the review of your case and records is often free and then they will normally take the case on a contingency fee basis if they think you can win.
