Unhappy Left in the DARK

South Africa Kwa-Zulu Natal Durban :I was injured on duty in a motor vehicle accident in June 2004,employed by Securicor. A neck injury which left me disable with no use of hands and legs(Quadriplegic). After seven years service I was boarded off-sick and given a workmans compensation pension. My Lawyer(free) failed to get assistance/support from my employers insurance company which has made mylife a living hell. The Road Accident Fund has given zero assistance aswell over the past 5 years. My Lawyer has broken contact with me leaving me in the dark. What do I do?

Default Re: Left in the DARK

As a first step find out where the lawyer left all this...file a complaint with the Law Society if we will not tell you what is the status.

From there you can take steps to move this along either legally or through medical assistance etc.

Angry Re: Left in the DARK

It's unlike that your ex-employers Securicor or rather now know as Group 4 Securicor would abandon you in such a sad position. As I have seen Group 4 fire on behalf of employees against the R.A.Fund an win. I feel you should start by confirming with your ex-employer what the reason for the lack of assistance.
