hi everyone , well im new here but need help on a few things. my partner has been signed of work for 6 weeks now by the doctor due to work related stress ,any way my partner works for a small company and been there for just over 2 years after a year his boss started to bullie him , having a go most of the time then , his boss put £80.00 of fake notes in my partners wage ,my partner needed work boots as the ones he had were realy ready for the mouth of the bin ,they were torn,ripped etc so my partner told his boss ,and his boss said im not paying for more boots becouse my partner puts a fag to his mouth. i went on the fist day of the doc signing sicknote to take it to his boss were he told me to get back to my scummy council house ,my partner should of got better education ,any ways the recent ones are his boss has now been ringing my partners old employer who works just round the corner from us to see what my partners up to ,and i went to drop the sick note off and his boss said its late as it was ment to be in on monday but as ive been busy and my partner wont go out i forgot to take it monday ,anyway i thought ill drop it off when i collect sick pay, his boss said i was late and he didnt have the money i held the sick note out for him to take and he just turned his back and started to wash the van again , so now my partner wont have 2 weeks off sickpay as his boss has refused to accept it , were do we stand can he do this , we have 4 children why wont his boss stop being nasty its like hes trying to get to my partner through me i cant cope anymore ,the stuff his boss has done is not the half of it can anybdy help about the sicknote part .

You can certainly make him pay the sick pay --or even file in small claims court or file a labour complaint.

But legally there is not too much you can do when an employer is just a bad manager and generally bad person. Either learn ways to deal with it, ignore it, or seek to move to a better employer.
