Hi
I'm a US citizen,residing in Houston,TX who got arrested in NY for trespassing ( accused of ) in Aug.2007.My case will be dismissed as ACD (Adjournment in Contemplation of Dismissal) in Feb.2008.how should i answer the following question when i apply for OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India)after my case is dismissed..the question is -Details of criminal proceedings against the applicant,if any,anywhere????? |

You may want to ask the prosecutor that was involved if you may treat this as if it never happened. And get that opinion in writing.
But make sure you confirm that situation because each case is different and what you think you arranged may not be exactly what is the actual legal status. A minor offense can also be expunged in many cases if need be. |
