What did you do?
Well if the case is dismissed or dropped, then you should be fine. If you were arrested, then immigration might have a record and you might need to explain what happened. If you were convicted, then you need to look at the charges and the sentence. There is one thing called petty offense exception. You need to post the fine and the jail time of the charges here or get a immigration lawyer to take a look (they are kinda expensive). If your case is the exception then you should be fine. but that is your only one chance. so stay out of trouble. if you can want, you can post your email here. i do want to know the outcome and how your visa goes. I hope this helps and God bless. * I am not a lawyer, I don't give legal advice |

I think you should be ok to go out of the country for winter break
just make sure you bring all your deposition paper work and all the stuff that your lawyer or the court gives. When you get back in, they MIGHT ask you or they don't even care. just in case. Just be honesty and say sorry. well leave a message here if you get back safe ![]() hope you have a good winter break |

The thing concerned about this issue is that My freind "A" is that employee. Recently my freind A above 21 years old who was working in a gas station, a TABC officer came and said that he had sold alcohol to a minor and the court order will be arriving soon in some days to him and the owner of his gas station.
My friend A had come in usa in student visa in Jan 2007. He had a very close friend "B" since childhood who came here in usa some years ago in student visa. Friend B got suddenly unconscious when he was playing pool and doctors said that it's a very rare case that he would survive. Since his family members were in is home country, my friend A went to meet him and stayed in hospital for 1 week and after friend B recovered friend A came back to continue his education. During this time my friend A had love with a permanent resident girl of marriageable age of Virginia. My friend A came back to study to his college at Louisinia. After some days, the girl escaped from her house and came to marry my friend and they married here in houston, texas. Their parents were definitely against it and contacted her many times to come back. Her mom had a heart attack which their family members mentions, thus she had to go meet her. Then, they kept her emotionally. Now, what happened is my friend A who was in the process of getting Permanent resident, they stopped the process. They didn't let him contact her and her contact him. Also, he had left his education. But, of course he isn't divorced. My friend who had planned to continue education after getting Permanent resident so that the tuition cost would be very less, was all gone. I am and we all, especially my friend A are severely confused and worried about the current status of my friend A and will he be able to continue his education or not. My friend desperately needs advice. |

he was already out of status when he was working but was married to her and would continue his education after greencard ......she is above 18 and of course permanent resident for more than 5 years. She is eligible for citizenship as well. Well she got herself into parents control due to her mother heart attack ...emotional effect u see. Getting married to us permanent resident...does that make him legal??? if yes what's his status??? totally confused u see./.d
