Hello,
I had a quick question regarding my wife and I's current car insurance policy and how it will be viewed by the immigration lawyers during our upcoming interview for her permanent residency. If a specific question regarding our car insurance comes up pertaining to us having separate policies for our vehicles, how will this fair us proving we have a bonafied marriage? CURRENT STATUS OF INSURANCE Husband: Car insurance with his car registered and both drivers listed. Wife: Car insurance with a different company, with her listed as a driver. She is not the title holder or co-owner of the car. The owner of the policy is a family friend that has been in essence her guardian since she came here back in 2003. EXPLANATION Our explanation, which is based on feedback from husband car insurance company, is below: Husband car insurance company told us since the other insurance has been paid in full for the year, it is in our best interest to wait until next year to switch it over to avoid paying double. We also plan on potentially getting a new car in the coming months so have not changed the car over to my plan until that has happened. BACKGROUND I am the US citizen, 26, with a stable well paying job. She is currently a grad student who has been in good standing with Visa and I-20 since her arrival to the US in 2003. We as a couple have pertinent evidence regarding lease, utility, phone, joint credit card, joint bank, photo albums, cards, flowers, memories of 20+ months together, know personal information about each other very well, etc. Thank you very much for the reply, Nricko |

That is not going to be a determinative factor if all else shows a bona fide marriage.
