Confused I-192 Waiver; I was denied entry into the US-Canada border, for no reason

Hi I am a Canadian citizen with no criminal record, About 5 years ago I was denied entry into the US-Canada border, for no reason at all. I then applied for a I-192 Waiver. however it has been 4 years and I have still got no response. I email them and I am always told my file is being reviewed for security checks, but it has said this for 2 years. Is there anything I can do to help get my waiver quicker . P.S I have also had my lawyer contact them, but nothing has helped. Any tips?

I wish to inform you that if you have a criminal record in Canada and have been refused entry at the US Border, you must obtain a US Entry Waiver (I-192 or I-194) to return to the US. While the ARO goal is to complete the adjudication of each application within 4-6 months of the filing date, there are many cases in which the processing period is much longer. In many cases, the delay is not at the ARO, but with another federal agency responding to the necessary background and security checks. You may contact with DHS with your inquiry and can ask status of your application at inquiry.waiver.aro@dhs.gov.

You don't need to have a criminal record to be denied entry into the US. In the past, perhaps you overstayed? The border agents also have access to CPIC which is a database used by the Canadian police that keeps records withdrawn charges, acquittals or just complaints to police. See this: Much Revealed in Criminal Record Checks ~ US Waiver for Canadians

So they can pretty much have any reason at all to deny you entry. You'll need to restart an I-192 application which involves an interview at the border or a pre-clearance office. They'll be able to tell you why you are in their databases.

Good luck!
