J 1 extension

Hello - I'm currently in USA participating in Work and Travel program. I have J 1 visa.
I want to stay LEGGALLY in USA for a couple of months but my visa expires September.
How can I extend it or... what should I do in order to stay here legally?
Please tell me... give me advice!

You need a new sponsor to extend your J1 visa or your previous sponsor to apply for an extension.

The U.S. Information Agency may grant an extension beyond the usual program maximum where sufficient need is shown. Generally, however, such extensions are rarely provided.
