To return back to USA

Hello!

Me and my husband are in a real bind. Long story short. We had hired a lawyer who was arrested for praticing law in VA illegally and she did file all of the paper work for us including me petitioning for my husband who entered the US illegally and for his children that were in Accra, Ghana. The children are in the US with me now and they have their permanent resident cards but now we are waiting for my husband to return, but the only problem is that the lawyer filed a I601 for my husband who was not deported but left the US voluntarily because the visa applications were sent to the Embassy by the National visa center with the two older children's visa application and a interview was needed to be set up in Accra, Ghana to process the visa applications. So he left the US when we found out that the visa application were sent to the Embassy in Accra, Ghana. Now that he went to the interview the Embassy in Accra, Ghana want the appoved I601 to approve is visa application and the USCIS still shows that it is pending since 7/04 on the USCIS website. I have been mailing and calling the National Benefits number and they told us to wait until my husband has gone to the interview. Well he went to the interview and now the I601 is still pending and now we do not know what to do to get the I601. Please advise. :0)
