Default US Visa Waiver

Hi,

I was arrested for theft in 2005 and found not guily by a jury. My question is, am I entitled to travel to the US on the WVP or do I need to go and apply for a visa even if I was found not guilty?

Thanks
O

Normally you can travel. You could call the embassy to check your status as a backup precaution.

Please explain the Visa Waiver Program, what it\'s compliance requirements
are and if all requirements are met (such as leaving prior to 90 days), for
what if any arbitrary reason could a traveler be refused entry to the
states.

You can be refused for any reason at the border. There is no 100% guarantee.

So is it reasonable to assume that a traveler could spent 2000$+ for an airline ticket and IF the CBP officer is having a bad hair day could turn you around on the next flight home. Seems a bit over-breadth on the interpretation of who should not be allowed to travel to the "land of the free and home of the brave".

That does not happen for practical and other reasons. But the reasonable discretion does exist.

I frankly would not worry about bad hair being the problem.
