J-1 visa re-entry and bad debt

I am a junior at the university. I am an international student. Over a year ago, JCPenny employer took advantage of me (English is my third language) and registered me for a credit card. For a year I haven't received anything from them - letters, calls, emails, I dont even have my card. Yesterday I got call from a collector company, saying that I owe JCPenny over $100. I dont have this money, I wont be able to pay. I am not planning to stay in the USA after my graduation; however, I have to go to my country for a summer and be back for my last school year.
Since this will show up on my record, is there possibility that I will be denied re-entry to the USA? May I have problems in future if I obtain any US visa?
