I would like to know some answers I have been in the us for over a year and I have overstayed I am with a us citizen who promised we would marry when his divorce was complete now it is and everytime I mention marriage he puts in what seems to me to be excuses he says I am legal I am retired and get a retirement pension he thinks that a person who is retired can live anywhere I myself think that we should to things legally ie marry ect am I correct? if so how can we marry

Promises! Promises! Can't you get the drift the man probably never wanted to marry you in the first place. Time to get on with your own life...without him.

Not a good situation. If he is not going to marry you and change your status, you may want to consider leaving --but your overstay will be a problem if you want to come back (unless you get married).
