LOST GREEN CARD & NEED TO TRAVEL OUT OF US

My sister holds a green card and lost it when she was with her husband when they boaded a cruise ship recently in the States.

She has already filed the necessary lost and replacement reports but is due to travel out of the US on 19th November 2008 to visit her mother who has been diagnosed with stage 4 colonic cancer. She is booked to return back to the US on 17th December 2008.

How can she apply for a temporary stamp on her passport in order that she is allowed to return back to the US after visiting her mother since she has not yet to date received any news on the replacement of her green card? My sister lives in New Jersey.

Sorry, late reply. All the had to do is to go to INS office and they will stamp her passport 6 month worth of green card travel status. By the way, it only cost a total of $370 to get is replaced in 2 weeks!!!

I recently lost my green card (permanent 10 year) and need to travel April 16th. I applied via I-90 for the new one on March 30th.

I went to the imigration office today on an infopass appointment to try and get a stamp so I could travel and they said I needed to wait for the biometric appointment and that could take 2 to 3 weeks.l

Any way to ensure I can make my trip? It is for an important family event!
