Confused Illegal kid in U.S. territory

I'm a 24 year old guy that is trying to solve his situation. I was born in Guatemala and adopted there from a U.S. citizen then he brought me to Puerto Rico when i was about 3 years old but when he tried to pass the adoption papers to be legalized and recognized in america it was denied and so aparently he didn't do anything else since i was already here. Now i find myself in this situation trying to solved it and live a normal life but every lawyer i've visit finds themselves perplexed because they can't seem to find a way to solve my situation. i hope someone can help me find a way to solve my situation.
Thanks
