I have been approved J 1 waiver visa and working in a university as a faculty member. Now I am requested to practice at a different site than it was mentioned in the application (although employer is the same). Is legal/ am I allowed to practice like that till I am on waiver?
Thanks |

It is not clear whether you have a J-1 visa or not. The J-1 visa grants the holder the ability to work for the designated employer. You need to be in possession of the visa to be able to work in any event. I am not sure what you mean by "waiver".
The J-1 visa is linked to the employer and I believe that as long as you remain with the same company (within the same State) there is no problem. You might want to check with your employer as to whether they have a Human Resources department who will be able to help you further. aee |
