I am interested in the relationship between regional courts and the ICC. I'm curious how regional courts fit into - if they do at all - the ICC jurisdictional criteria regarding complementarity. In theory, could regional courts be another level of "filtering" before reaching the ICC? Would a case be likely to travel from a local court to a national court to a regional court and then to the ICC? Are the ECHR and the InterAmerican Court of Human Rights considered completely different court systems to the ICC, or is there possible cooperation?
If anyone has answers/ideas themselves or can recommend research or authors, I would appreciate it very much. All best. |
