Angry Discrimination male dominated industry

I am a Service Manager at a fortune 100 company, I did business outside of work with a co-worker, I woke-up on 2/5 and went to my on-line banking and discovered this co-worker had cashed a $500 check which was supposed to have been destroyed. He gave me a ripped up check and said it was the one in question. Well, I said some things out of anger which I don't really remember even saying but apparently he felt threatened and played the message to our HR manager and my Senior Manager. I am indirectly this co-worker's manager. We work in the same department different shift. It was a personal matter and not work related at all. I just used the term manager in my tirade and that caused it to be work related. I maintained totally professionalism at work and I am an exemplary employee. I have kudos from my customers and my crew. Is this something they can terminate for? This was a first time offense of any kind. I temporarily lost sight of what I was saying while in my moment emotional distress. While I have witnesses and I have witnessed myself abusive and threatening language from a fellow manager against subordinates at work and the Senior Manager just told him to apologize. Remember my incident did not happen at work it was a personal issue.

That above is possibly even a crime--fraud, theft etc.

But you cannot respond the way you did and it is possible that they could take some kind of action. It would seem odd to fire you over that one-time incident.

Question Re: Discrimination male dominated industry

I am appealing my termination through the corporate office and taking this individual to small claims court, now I am wondering if they are going to deny me my unemployment benefits and how this affects my reputation.
