Default wrongfull termination/can anthing be done ???????????

My Girlfriend was fired because they said she sent a letter to the owner of the company's house. The letter talked about things going on in the company about the manager's wrong doing's. They have no proof she sent the letter and the owner/management has admitted to "not" having proof she sent the letter. So 3 day's later they take me in the office and fired me for "not trusting me anymore". I have been with this company for almost 8 years and have never been written up for any wrong doing's. That is the only reason they gave me (that they can't trust me anymore) and i did no wrong !! Is there anything that can be done about this ?

If it is an "at-will" State, probably do not have a lot of options. So they think your girlfriend sent the letter, but do not have proof and they fired you because they are having "trust issues?"

The only upside is they will not be able to fight the unemployment. Sometimes its impossible to rationalize a company's actions a lot of a time but sometimes you are just handed the wrong side of the stick. Get unemployment and maybe speak with a lawyer.
